What is the meaning of the company name “Marketing Leads”?
Do you have a database of leads you’re selling?
The company name has two meanings.
The first is based on “Leads” as a verb – marketing
should lead the growth and development of any business.
The second is based on “Leads” as a noun – we focus
on the kinds of marketing that generate leads. We do
not have a static database of leads for sale. Instead,
we develop marketing programs that generate real leads
for our clients and that help them accelerate the growth
of their businesses.
What is your definition of marketing?
In simple terms, we define marketing
as the process of identifying the people most likely
to buy your product or service, and then reaching them
with your sales message and converting them into leads
in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.
What if I tried some marketing once or twice before,
but it didn’t pay off for me?
There are many reasons that could
happen. Marketing isn’t easy and it’s not a quick fix.
It could be you didn’t have a clear picture of your
target audience or of their specific needs or buying
hot buttons. It could be that you chose a marketing
tactic that wasn’t appropriate for your target audience,
or that you had the right marketing vehicle but your
message simply failed to capture their interest or spur
them to act. It could even be none of these things.
Perhaps your strategy, message and tactics were all
OK, but you just didn’t give it enough time to bear
fruit. At Marketing Leads, our expertise is in the design
and execution of marketing plans and lead generation
campaigns that are guaranteed to deliver results.
Isn’t marketing just another word for advertising?
No it isn’t. Advertising is just
one component of the “marketing mix”. There are many
others components such as media relations, direct marketing,
Internet marketing, etc.
Why should I bother with marketing? Why not just hire
another sales person to do cold calling?
In our view, cold calling is just
another type of marketing; it is not sales. The job
of marketing is to identify leads that sales representatives
can further qualify (turning the leads into prospects)
and work through the sales process to close (turning
the prospects into customers or clients). As a marketing
tactics go, cold calling is one of the most expensive
on a cost-per-lead basis, and is best used as part of
a broader integrated marketing program, not on a stand-alone
basis.
How can you guarantee results when so few of your competitors
do?
We can guarantee results because
we deliver. You’ll have to ask our competitors why they
can’t offer the same guarantee we do.
How long does it typically take for an investment in
marketing to begin to show results?
Truly effective marketing is a
marathon, not a sprint. Although we can often produce
measurable results within weeks, the really outstanding
payback and leverage comes from executing an intelligent
and sustained marketing program over time. Six months
to two years is the most common timeframe for an integrated
marketing campaign, although many marketing studies
have demonstrated that sustained advertising campaigns
continue to build impact over many decades.
How important are Search Engines these days?
For most businesses, being found
on Search Engines is critical. Recent studies have shown
that 85% of Americans now go to the Internet first when
they need to research something, whether in a B2C context
or B2B. We believe that Search Engine Optimization is
often one of the quickest and highest impact marketing
tactics that many businesses can implement and have
made it one of our core competencies.
Why do I need a marketing strategy? Why not follow the
Nike approach and “Just Do It!”?
Very simple. Without a clear strategy,
you could waste a lot of money on marketing tactics
that don’t work.
